Get in Touch

Peterborough, New Hampshire

I still remember the first time we drove through Peterborough. It was a beautiful October day — the kind of New England fall day that almost doesn’t feel real. The air was crisp, and the leaves were those bright, vibrant colors you only see this time of year. As we drove down Grove Street and passed the shops, restaurants, and scenery downtown, I remember thinking it felt like we had somehow wandered onto the set of Leave It to Beaver or Gilmore Girls. Everything just had that small-town charm that you don’t come across very often anymore. We parked and walked around for a bit, and I kept saying the same thing over and over: “Oh look over there.” “That shop looks so cute.” “We should try that restaurant.” Even though the downtown isn’t huge, it somehow feels full — full of character, full of local businesses, and full of life.  When we got back in the car that day, I remember thinking that this was a place I wanted to come back to. As it turned out, I didn’t have to wait very long. Within six months, we had packed up our life in New Jersey and moved to the Monadnock Region.

Since then, Peterborough has truly become home.

Living here, you start to appreciate the little things that make the town special. The walkable downtown. The local restaurants and coffee shops where you start to recognize familiar faces. The sense of community that shows up at school events, sports games, farmers markets, and town gatherings throughout the year.

For families, Peterborough has a way of feeling both active and welcoming at the same time. The ConVal school district connects several towns in the area, and many parents appreciate how involved the community is with the schools and activities.

And of course, one of the biggest draws to living in the Monadnock Region is the access to the outdoors. Whether it’s hiking near Mount Monadnock, walking local trails, kayaking, skiing, or just enjoying the scenery, being outside is part of everyday life here.

The Peterborough NH real estate market reflects that same appeal. You’ll find everything from historic homes near downtown to classic New England colonials and properties with land just a few minutes outside town. For many buyers exploring the Monadnock Region, Peterborough is often the place that first captures their attention.

For our family, it started with a simple drive through town on a fall day. Today, it’s the place we’re grateful to call home — and a community we love helping others discover.
